Closet doors are usually bi-fold doors, although they may be sliding doors. Bi-fold doors are also being used in laundry bays, and sometimes, in kitchen pantries. The bi-fold doors mount to the opening of the closet from the floor, and from top of the closet opening. Closet doors are relatively simple to replace. It takes some skills and experience. NOTE that it if you are not sure you can do it yourself, hire someone to do it for you, as it may cause injury or property damage.
+ To free the top door bracket from the track, release the screw at the top of the door. Now, slowly tilt the doors to the side, so you can pull the bottom of the door from the slot. Take the door out.
+ To install the new door, tilt it, and place the door's bottom pin into the floor bracket. Raise the door slowly, and insert the top pin into the top bracket. Secure the bracket in place with the screw.
+ Close and open the door to test that the door opens and closes properly. If the door does not close and open as it should, make adjustments by loosening the screw in the top bracket, and then moving the doors left or right. Tighten the top bracket screw after the adjustment.
